… Sonic Boom is here. The cover is strikingly similar to Rock N Roll Over from 1976. Paul Stanley promised in interviews 'an album with an old-fashioned seventies sound', but compared to those old records, Sonic Boom blasts out of the speakers. The album thus lives up to its name. Tommy Thayer, ex-fan and new to guitar, co-wrote four songs with Paul Stanley. Great songs, Never Enough stands out because of the beautifully doubled guitar work.
