JR and PH7 are two people in their twenties from Cologne, Germany, who have become addicted to music and decided to venture into the art of producing hip-hop beats. With their first record The Standard (2009) they already enjoyed a modest success, raising the bar for producers internationally. The kick-off Bow Down sounds promising due to the wonderfully arranged (vocal) soul clippings and the subtle, but striking bass line. Even though this level is not maintained everywhere, there is still a fairly constant 'dope'. The charm of the two beat builders is the fact that they have stayed close to the essence.
