Taneytown is the country rock band of singer Edwin Jongedijk, no stranger to Groningen. The band has a classic line-up: two guitars, bass and drums. Strong point of this band is the harmony vocals. The album opens with a piece of tightly sung three-part vocals. After this surprising opening it is a coming and going of songs that are nice to listen to. However, it is not more than that. … voice is alive, the arrangements are solid and the musicians master their instruments. Just a solid record with solid rock. It is a bit boring. The man who lifts almost all songs from that boringness is called Joost Prinsen. The solo guitarist. Actually, listening to this CD is a sequence of waiting for the solos.
