Delerium has been originally a two-man project since 1987. The only constant factor in this is Bill Leeb, formerly a guest musician for industrial dance pioneers Skinny Puppy. In 1986 he started the Front Line Assembly project in this area together with Michael Balch. To give shape to their other musical ideas, they worked on the satellite project Delerium. Balch soon disappeared from the scene,
… but Leeb managed to find other co-producers for each subsequent CD by Delerium. Music Box Opera was made half in Vancouver with Jeremy Inkel (Left Spine Down, Front Line Assembly) and the other half in Los Angeles with Rhys Fulber who previously worked on Delerium. A band that has been around for so long has to become hip again at some point. And indeed, With their languid beats and dreamy vocals, Delerium fits perfectly into the picture of the tripop revival.
