… shameless swiping, copying virtually every psychedelic band from the 1960s and 1970s. Add Prochet's whisper vocals and you have the recipe behind Melody's Echo Chamber. That works fantastic for half an album. Especially the strong opening track I Follow You could introduce the characteristic Tame Impala sound to a larger audience. After a few songs the lack of variety starts to stand out. Even worse are the long soundscapes that may only have a point with the intake of mind-altering drugs. By the end of the CD you have had enough of the echo chamber and you need a little more melody. (JE)more
