Sara Blasko's third solo album, like her previous record As Day Follows Night, has become a richly orchestrated whole. Blasko's thick, warm voice rests solidly on a bed of wind instruments, strings and great percussion. Her voice thrives with such a bombastic accompaniment, perhaps better than with a simple piano or a single guitar. The orchestral arrangements also give the record the right drama.
Because the songs are not about cows and veins. Travel and religion are two themes that come up regularly. Not surprising, because Sarah's parents did missionary work for years. She is originally Australian, but now, thanks to her many travels, she is now also converting more and more people to her beautiful music in Europe. (HF)more
