German DJ Shantel is not afraid to experiment. He switched from techno to balkan beats and that brought him great success in Europe and Turkey. With Anarchy + Romance, Shantel takes another side road. This time there are many Greek influences present and he even experiments with a real fanfare orchestra in the song The Masterplan. Anarchy + Romance is the closest in style to his album from 2009. In

Album opener Ghost Town is a pleasant surprise, but from Paranoia Bunk on, Shantel seems to be drowning in his own creativity. A bright spot in the chaos is the duet Lenny Soda that Shantel recorded with singer Emma Greenfield. (BvdV)more
