Before the first Alabama Shakes album came out, Brittany Howard worked as a postman. After her group's debut album was rave about, the group's front woman did not have to return to the post. The group was on the biggest stage of Lowlands and the group also performed well in their own United States. The debut was nominated for three Grammys. The good news is that successor Sound & Color continues
… unperturbed where the group left off. Alabama Shakes continues to draw on the blues, soul and rock sources of the Deep South of the US. Howard definitely adds something to this with her characteristic voice. She begs, lisps, screams and cheers in eleven memorable songs. Dan Auerbach's production is full of discoveries that raise the songs even further. Alabama Shakes continues its triumphal march with the inspired Sound & Color. (PdK)more
