Marc Collin was the big man behind the Nouvelle Vague project. New wave songs, not always the most cheerful music, were transformed into cheerful Brazilian songs. At some point, Collin must have had it with the bossabeats, because with his new brainchild he is going in a completely different direction. The trip hits of the early nineties are at the basis. Artists like Massive Atack, Portishead,
… Tricky, weren't exactly smiley either, but this time Collin keeps the atmosphere more intact than with Nouvelle Vague. Well-known songs such as Safe From Harm, Roads, Overcome and many more are thrown back in time thirty years and converted into cinematographic music of the sixties. French cinema in particular served as inspiration, which meant that the melancholic character of the songs could be easily maintained. (AD)more
