'People love my voice and that's why I can experiment a lot'. You wish more musicians would think like British singer Kwabs. He knows that his singing is the basis of his success and therefore dares to take risks. Based on just a few songs, the Londoner was immediately predicted a great future in 2013. That happens more often in England, of course, because the British music press is always looking
… for talent. Kwabs did live up to the sky-high expectations. The single Walk was a big European hit in 2014. The accessible dance on this track is just one of the flavors on debut Love + War. The electronics for example also delivers less hit-sensitive productions. His grunting synthesizers counterbalance Kwabs' strong voice. Perhaps it would have made more sense to opt for R&B or old-fashioned soul. That would have been a lot more boring too. Kwabs gives the general public a few hits and at the same time keeps critics satisfied with innovative songs. (JE)more
