Bazart did not cause as much commotion as Kind Van De Duivel with their single Goud. Probably because the irresistible chorus 'rather fast to hell than slow to heaven' in sweet-voiced Flemish simply sounds a lot less inflammatory than the message of drilled over housebeats.. Bazart from Ghent scored a big hit in 2016 anyway. Also in the Netherlands, where Gold made it to number 6 in the annual Song
… of the Year election. It is also without doubt the prize number on this full-fledged debut album, after the unnamed EP from 2015. Echo consists of ten indie electronic songs that stand out more for the Dutch lyrics than for their surprising musical discoveries. Tasty, but also a bit uniform in the long run. How popular they are nevertheless with it, however, is apparent on the included live CD. Every song - from Echo, Bazart or de cover Sterrenstof - is received with equal enthusiasm by the audience. Only at the end of the track Goud a little bit more. (RME)more
