Not a word has been lied in this sentence and yet some clarification is in order. Yes, Wasser and Davis use a lot of electronics on this record. And yes, on closer examination,
… the influence of the repetitive flute music from the Central African Republic can be heard. But let's not get around it any further: Let It Be You is just a pop record. In addition to drum computers and synthesizers, guitars and drums can also be heard. The 'borrowed' Pygmy rhythms serve as the basis for accessible songs with a head and a tail. Certainly the songs Wasser sings have that nice soul vibe of her songs like Joan As A Police Woman. Davis's songs also score well. You don't really need to know more.
