Klyne is the self-named debut album by the duo Nick Klein and Ferdous Dehzad from Helmond. For ten songs, the people of Helmond fire a danceable whole at the listener. They believe that the digital society brings about a form of dehumanization. On this album they therefore try to focus on human feelings and experiences in real life, which in turn contrast with the abstraction that technology can
… bring with it. Whether this concept is really expressed clearly can be left open. The music itself is easy to listen to and despite the fact that repetition is sometimes lurking, the Dutch duo manages to deliver a fine debut with their rhythmic and fluid flow. The percussion, solid melodies and winding synthesizers do their job and make it difficult to keep your feet (and maybe even the rest of your body) still. (JvQ)more
