A look back to the past that leads to a refreshing sound! Canadian identical twin sisters Tegan and Sara were writing their High School memoir. They discovered two cassette tapes containing dozens of demos of songs they wrote between the ages of 15 and 17. Songs about first loves, first breakups, friendships and other topics that occupy teens. To their surprise, Tegan & Sara found the songs very
… worthwhile. They decided to use this material for their ninth studio album. Of the nearly 20 lost demos, 12 adapted songs were made. They could never have made this album as teenagers, with songs they could never have made as adults. Skilfully produced, Arranged and performed by an all-female team, the record is stylistically a refreshing throwback to 90s college guitar rock interspersed with synth-pop elements. (SvdP)more
