In the mining town of Fairmont, West Virginia, singer, guitarist and songwriter Lou Poster grew up as the scion of a coal miner's family. His own father's advice was that Poster would avoid a hard life as a miner. It was at his father's retirement party that the trio Drift Mouth first performed. On Loveridge Is Burning, Poster now recounts the hard existence in the mines and gives the miners names

His voice is dark and slightly jagged, alongside which the second voice - in traditions of Emmylou Harris and Gillian Welch - of bassist Jess Kauffman colours beautifully.
