Marius Lauber's first two records appeared at the end of the summer. This timing could be better, the dance producer from Cologne must have thought. The music he has been releasing since 2012 under the name Roosevelt mainly stimulates the desire for sun, sea and summer. In that respect, this third Roosevelt album will be released in March 2021 and will of course be very well received. Musically,
… Polydans happily embroiders on Roosevelt (2016) and Young Romance (2018): danceable synthpop, which leans heavily on the pastel-coloured 80s and early 90s. However, Lauber (30) has audibly taken a bit more time with his compositions than on the somewhat skimpy predecessor. Just listen to how carefully he builds up layer after layer in the great opener Easy Way Out. Or how he experiments with an instrumental in Montjuic. Other stunners are Closer To My Heart, See You Again and especially the euphoric Lovers, which sounds like a contemporary version of Nik Kershaws The Riddle. Yes, let that summer come now! (RME)more
