The Lovell sisters are increasingly shifting from American roots music and folk to a power sound. On the live album Paint The Roses they are assisted by a small orchestra with electric instruments like bass and guitar, as well as brass and strings. … sister Megan, enough power in her dark voice to carry the whole. There's still blues-rock to be heard in Larkin Poe's sound, but with the same imagination of classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Heart, its much broader scope goes on.
