Subtly, Joseph van Wissem's lute playing ripples on in the opening track of Behold! I Make All Things New. This time, the Limburg American incorporates his lute music with electronics and neoclassical elements. There are no vocals this time and van Wissem goes back to the sound of his early days with his minimal compositions. Some of the songs are just under a quarter of an hour long and because of
… the slow tempo and minimal playing they somewhat appeal to the listener's patience. If you are open to it, then you can expect an album that can be described as spiritual. Van Wissem's music is not the most accessible, but it is full of mysticism and radiates a warm glow at times. (JvQ)more
