For Garden Gaia, German Henrik Weber aka Pantha du Prince was inspired by the earth as a self-regulating system. Consequently, the sounds and songs unfold almost like organisms and flow gracefully into one another. In doing so, Weber bridges the gap between his earlier work like
Black Noise (2010) and more minimal albums like
Conference of Trees (2020). Once again, his songs are full of beautiful
… details and you will be short of ears for the extraordinary sounds, both foreground and background, that he uses as a dreamy weft. The music this time is between electronica and ambient. Through the use of bells and wooden percussion instruments, he refers to nature. And so Garden Gaia ripples by in an extremely special way. Perhaps less pronounced than previous albums like Black Noise or The Triad (2016), but with Weber you are still guaranteed an extraordinary listening experience. (JvQ)more
