Scottish singer-songwriter James Yorkston collaborates with Sweden's The Second Hand Orchestra for the second time on this album. For the first time, Yorkston wrote the songs on the piano instead of guitar, which adds a warm glow to the sound. As on predecessor
The Wide, Wide River (2021), the songs have a jaunty and improvisational character, but also remain intimate due to their introspective
… nature. A nice addition is the vocals of The Cardigans vocalist Nina Persson, who, combined with Yorkson's vocals, provides additional dynamics. Thus, beautiful harmonies unfold, which always flow gracefully into subsequent songs. Thus The Great White Sea Eagle becomes a special whole, in which you can really lose yourself as a listener.
