It's not a quote from a famous writer or philosopher, but from Mother Morticcia of The Addams Family: "What's normal for the spider is chaos for the fly. It covered the load for Grian Chatten, who came to feel more and more like the fly in the chaotic web of touring and growing bigger with his band
Fontaines D.C.. Chatten grew up in the Irish fishing village of Kerrie and, with his first solo album,
… seems to be looking back to the village boy or his old self in the admired singer of a well-known post-punk band. He returns to earth with a collection of songs with singer-songwriter aspirations, harking back to Irish folk and poetry traditions. Songs played rudimentarily on acoustic guitar, but Chatten also does not shy away from unorthodox dressing with a rhythm box or synthesizer. The strength of Chaos For The Fly is, above all, its raw and gutsy delivery. (MR)more
