Bertolf Lentink has been known as a gifted musician and songwriter since his days with the band The Junes. Moreover, by getting started with work from his sources of inspiration, he emphasizes his musical roots. For example, with the band
Her Majesty, he recorded songs by
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and performed a veritable re-enactment of The Beatles' famous
Rooftop Concert, in his case on the
… roof of a television studio in Amsterdam. For Bluefinger, Lentink traveled to Nashville and performed some of his songs with top musicians from the bluegrass world. Best-known name is violinist Stuart Duncan, one of the most in-demand fiddlers in the United States. On the song Another Day - the first Bertolf released under his own name - the Dutchman and the American exchange solos, which is so well liked that they record the song without the planned fadeout. Bertolf's melodic songs work very well with the - normally - harmonically somewhat simple bluegrass. As icing on the cake of this fine album, we also hear guest artists Ilse Delange and Tim Knol.
