A trio consisting of Edie Brickell (known from
Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians), CJ Camerieri and Trever Hagen. The trio previously collaborated on Camerieri and Hagen's project
CARM. As a trio, they explore the boundaries of different musical genres through experimentation and improvisation. The trio decided to spend three days experimenting with sounds and styles, which is the basis for this
… album. In the mix you can hear synthpop, brass, electronica and ambient, while the rhythms mainly emerge from drum computers. On the one hand, you can hear the songs unfold organically, while the rhythms sound angular and machine-like. This creates an interesting contrast, within which the group intriguingly plays with texture and tempo. Brickell's vocals add a mysterious and dreamy layer to this extraordinary album, which in itself could have been longer than the paltry half hour within which the lush songs unfold. (YvQ)more
