Eagerly awaited the second album from indie-darling and former
Chairlift singer Caroline Polachek. Indeed, she could count herself as one of the most interesting new pop singers after the launch of her solo career and release of debut
Pang (2020). Desire, I Want To Turn Into You is another shot in the arm with a beautiful production in which indie and synthpop are complemented by surprising elements
… such as a bagpipe (Blood And Butter) or even flamenco pop (Sunset). In addition to the layered sound, Polachek also manages to impress with her vocal acrobatics. It puts a pleasant form of drama into her songs. In doing so, she underscores the themes of longing and love, which prevail. As if all that weren't interesting enough, she managed to snare both Grimes and Dido to collaborate on Fly To You. That song is immediately the emotional highlight of this great album. (YvQ)more
