On her second album, American singer (Cari Elise) Fletcher once again shows an extremely personal side of herself. Themes of identity, insecurity, self-fulfillment and various facets of love are incorporated into catchy pop songs. Musically, it is an extension of her debut
Girl Of My Dreams (2022). Once again, Fletcher places her inner struggles and feelings beneath compelling beats and soaring
… vocals. In some songs, the guitar takes over and the whole thing leans a bit more towards indie pop, this is also where comparisons to Taylor Swift surface. And that's not surprising, because that's how the song Eras of Us was inspired by Swift. When Fletcher had visited Swift's Eras Tour, she came up with the idea to write a song about it. Switching between indie and synthpop makes for a varied album that, unlike Fletcher's debut, has more of a personality. (YvQ)more
