Midge Ure was formerly the lead singer for the group Ultravox. This group made itself almost immortal with the hit "Vienna". "Breathe" is his fourth solo album. It is a mixture of pop, folk and world music, with songs inspired by Ure's Scottish / Celtic background. A variety of musicians can be heard on this album, including cellist Ofra Harnoy, Paddy Moloney (The Chieftains), Liam O'Maonlai (Hot
… House Flowers), Robert Fripp (guitar) and members of Mary Black's backing band. Other instruments that various musicians play on this album include: Celtic harp, harmonium, mandolin, didjeridoo and accordion. The use of these instruments, which are somewhat unusual for pop music, gives this album an interesting folk touch.more
