Perhaps the most beautiful female singing voice in pop music is that of Elizabeth Frazer of The Cocteau Twins. This Scottish trio had its most successful period in the eighties. The music of the band is characterized by the dreamy vocal sound of Fraser with the accompaniment consisting of a sound collage of guitars, studio effects and drum machines.
