Pop music from the province is doing well. Groups such as Skik, De Kast and Blof have also recently broken through nationally. Volumia! is a nine-person group from Maastricht. The main member of the group is singer Xander de Buisonjé. Besides taking care of all the vocals, he also wrote all the songs. The music of Volumia! is a mix of cheerful swing pop with lots of horns and sensitive ballads.
The songs have everyday subjects such as Back To Nature and Free Time, while the ballads are mostly about broken loves (including the hit singles Afscheid and Het Is Over). (CK)more
