With her seventh album Femme Fatale (2011), Britney Spears showed that she can compete well in a market dominated by Lady GaGa and Katy Perry. The exciting beats and synths on the CD, especially in the song How I Roll, were not only effective in the club, but also led to a nice album sale. How would that be live? In a word: disappointing. Nobody will deny that Britney Spears is not a brilliant (live)
… singer. She can easily be forgiven for playing the entire concert on this DVD. Even Michael Jackson occasionally let a band run along. But that was mainly because he did such difficult dances that singing had to be lost. Spears, as we can see in her video clips, is a good dancer. Unfortunately she seems to have forgotten all her steps because the choreography is rusty and lethargic and does not fit the blasting music at all. The spicy outfits in which the 'singer' is wearing are more tacky than exciting and this actually applies to the entire production. Fans are better off having a party at home and then setting up Femme Fatale. That CD is pretty nice; this concert is downright sad. (JE)more
