Metallica, the most successful heavy metal band in the world, released the highly anticipated album St Anger in 2003. The recording process for this CD was extremely difficult and took more than a year. This turbulent period, during which the band was under therapy, was documented in documentary form and appeared in theaters and later on DVD. The much-discussed film shows a band that runs into all
… kinds of problems; bassist Jason Newstad leaves the band, singer James Hetfield is admitted to a clinic during the recording to get rid of his alcohol addiction and writing songs produces a lot of fireworks between James and drummer Lars Ulrich. Constantly present is therapist Phil Towle who caught $ 40,000 a month for his soothing words. Ultimately, of course, it all turns out well and Metallica delivers a great album. This one ' jubilee edition ', which comes out ten years after the first diocumentary, contains an extra DVD on which the band members and filmmakers look back on the unexpected success of the film.
