The live double album Alive! marked Kiss's definitive breakthrough in their home country America in 1975. The group had a spectacular live show, but as support act the group was usually short-lived. With their theatrical show, they blew their furious headlines off the stage. Alive! contains recordings of the first arena shows that the group gave on its own. The group was dismissed as a novelty act
… due to their make-up and stage effects, but Alive! proves that Kiss was one of the most exciting live bands in the United States around 1975.
