"Uppå marmorns höga mountain" or "On the high marble mountain" comes from a song by Lisa Boudré (1866-1953). Recordings were made of this legendary Swedish folk singer in 1935, when she was 69 years old, which decades later would inspire Susanne Rosenberg (1957) to make an extensive study of Lisa Boudré and her songs from Gästrikland. On this CD Rosenberg has recorded her interpretation of some
… of those songs. Susanne herself is a gifted singer and a good singing teacher, as evidenced by the vocal contributions of her students Ulrika Bodén, Eva Rune, and Karin Holdar. Besides vocals we hear Annika Wijnbladh on cello, Sven Ahlbäck on violin and Mikail Marin on viola. The songs are arranged for two or more voices with instrumental accompaniment. (GO) _more
