The brothers (Fratelli) Enzo and Lorenzo Mancuso were born in Sutero, a hilltop village in a poor backwater part of Sicily. They grew up with the local folk music. When poverty forced their parents to emigrate to England, they developed their music there, torn from their roots, into their own original style. … instruments such as the guitar, violin, saz, hurdy-gurdy, woodwind and harmonium. In the early eighties they returned to Italy, but were no longer able to settle down there, nor was their music style much appreciated by the Sicilians.
