Lassina Coulibaly founded the group Yan Kadi Faso in 1987. The group plays music from Burkina Faso and Mali. The line-up is as follows: flé (a flute), balan (a balafon, yet another name), tchitchacara (a kind of rattle of seashells), dji dounou (a water drum), guita flé (half a kalabas), djembé (a hand drum), doundounba (a beating drum), kenkéni (a small doundounba), kora (the 21-string harpute
