The Frenchman and Dobet Gnahoré decided to make music together and label company Contre-Jour released their studio albums. As multicultural as Abidjan's society is, the duo consciously chooses pan-African music; songs that are sung in various African languages and various African music styles. On her third album Djekpa La You Dobet sings, among other things, about the strength of African women, her homesickness for Ivory Coast, about desert life, street children, songwriting and the love for husband, children and parents.
