Already in 1964 Joseph Shambalala put the choir Ladysmith Black Mambazo on. The group focused on interpreting the isiscathamaiya, a vocal tradition of the South African Zulu. The group has been growing rapidly for the best choir of its kind and the group enters from the mid seventies also abroad. The big breakthrough came when Ladysmith Black Mambazo sings on the highly successful Graceland (1986)
