Marlene Dietrich (Berlin 1901 - Paris 1992) in 1929 broke through as a singer in German revues. Her biggest hit scored them with the timeless Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Liebe eingestellt. In 1930, Dietrich moved to the United States and they will remain even if three years later the Nazis rise to power in Germany. As a strong opponent of Hitler, Dietrich acts for the Allied forces.
