This beautiful CD is like a time machine that takes us back to the childhood years of Wolfgang and Nannerl Mozart. Illness forced the child prodigies to stay in our country longer than planned, while father Leopold had already been struck down in London by laryngitis. In the Symphony K.16, composed recently in London, we already hear glimpses of the later Mozart. From that adult Mozart - from after the patricide - we hear the beautiful variations on Ah, vous dirai-je, maman (better known as Kortjakket is sick, or Twinkle twinkle little star).
