Just as the Clarinet Quintets of Mozart and Brahms allow themselves to be combined by themselves, Mozart's Hobo Quartet actually desires no other companion besides Britten's masterful Phantasy Quartet. Mozart wrote his Oboe Quartet in 1781 for Friedrich Ramm, the Mannheim oboist for whom he had previously written the Oboe Concerto. … to the genre. This edition is led by Sony artists François Leleux (oboe) and Lisa Batiashvili (violin). The duo has already appeared on a Sony edition of Bach concerts. Lisa Batiashvili also attracted attention with the Violin Concerto by Magnus Lindberg, written especially for her, whose CD recording was combined with the Violin Concerto by Sibelius.more
