The performance of Mozart's "Requiem", which is preceded by the "Maurerische Trauermusik KV.477" and the "Adagio KV.411", is a live recording from 1998 made in Tokyo. This performance was the end of a tour of the Nederlands Kamerkoor and the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century conducted by Frans Brüggen. Soloists during the concert included soprano Mona Julsrud, tenor Zeger Vandersteene and bass
… Jelle Draijer. The booklet contains an impression of the tour, composed of notes by the Japanese music critic Setsuo Sasaki, who died at the end of 1998. The Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century's series "The Grand Tour presents_" also included a CD with arias written by Mozart for Aloysia Weber. Mozart met her when she was only 17 years old, which did not prevent her from developing a decent singing technique. Mozart's interest in Aloysia went beyond the music alone, however, it is not known whether this interest was mutual. After Aloysia got married, however, Mozart could not forget her. Ultimately, Mozart married Aloysia's sister, Constanze. Soloist on the CD "Arias for Aloysia Weber" is Cyndia Sieden. (HJ) Soloist on the CD "Arias for Aloysia Weber" is Cyndia Sieden.
