In 2007 Kees van Kooten and Wim de Bie were honored by the Institute for Sound and Vision with a retrospective exhibition. The importance of Koot & Bie in the national media landscape was thus once again underlined. Often enough, the duo also commented on the media in their TV shows. "How an ear and two eyes were sewn on to you!" is the subtitle of this DVD, which follows in a series of thematically
… arranged DVDs. In this part, the characters of Koot & Bie struggle with 'the new media': television, video, mobile telephony and computers. In addition to a large number of forgotten characters, we also see old acquaintances such as De Vieze Man and the Veenendaal sisters shine again. It is also striking how prophetic some videos are. Like the 1986 sketch Teleworking, which already foresees a future with e-mail and home work in the internetless era. (PdK)more
