After her cabaret studies, Flemish Eva De Roovere sang and played for several years in various bands such as Oblomow, Kadril and Olla Vogala, but from 2006 she pursued a solo career in music. The songs with idiosyncratic lyrics, melodies and arrangements, sung in a light, silky voice, tasted like more. Mijn Huis is now her fifth album. She didn't want a record with just love songs anymore. Through
… a musical journey through her thoughts, she shows listeners how she sees the world. The songs with a lightly humorous or slightly melancholic slant were recorded live as possible, without cutting or pasting, with the entire band at the same time. Spinvis wrote fascinating arrangements for many songs. Piet Goddaer (stage name Ozark Henry), Kit Hain and Thé Lau also contributed to the album. Besides Dutch-language De Roovere also sings two songs in French, which goes without saying for her: in the title song she emphasizes that she feels at home in all of Belgium, whether it is Flemish, Walloon or German. An indirect charge against the embarrassing politics! (SvdP)more
