With 't Schaep Met De 5 Pooten, the KRO scored for the first time in ages with a TV series of Dutch origin. The remake of the 1969 series of the same name managed to glean millions again. Not least because of the top cast, in which actors and actresses from all walks of life in the Dutch entertainment world came together. The series marked the definitive breakthrough for cabaret artist Marc-Marie
… Huijbrechts, in his role as Lukas. The sequel 't Vrije Schaep, in which the protagonists relocated to the campsite, was at least as great a viewing success. An important part of the series - which has now been running for longer than the original series - are the songs, sung in a strong Amsterdam accent. There is freely drawn from the tradition of Dutch-language light music, from Boudewijn de Groot to Shirley Zwerus and Ramses Shaffy to Astrid Nijgh. (MS)more
