All birds lay an egg in May, and an album by Frans Bauer will be released in October. It seems to be a law that cannot be avoided, but for the fans it is of course easy to remember. Om Van Te Dromen is called Bauer's umpteenth CD, and in his own words it is 'an innovative album in the genre'. So the ears are open, but it is all not too bad. The fourteen songs do not sound strikingly different than
… usual, and the subjects about which this time is sung do not differ from the usual themes. Maybe only the cover photos are a bit more glamorous than before, but for someone who has received the Golden Harp, that is okay sometime. Anyone who now fears that Frans Bauer will suddenly behave like a pop star can rest assured, he is just as normal as ever. (IV)more
