Marcus Miller was fed up with his music being constantly released illegally on so-called bootlegs, recorded by individuals at concerts, and then sold covertly. These individuals had usually armed themselves with recorders and microphones hidden in the strangest places on their bodies, such as in shirtsleeves, hats, or shoes. To end these abuses, Miller has created his own official bootleg 'The Ozell
… Tapes'. And what all the illegal bootlegs lack, namely perfect sound quality (it is not easy to record a good sound through the fabric of your hat) is present on The Ozell Tapes. This was also possible because a high-quality 'live mixing board' was used during all his concerts in 2002. This enabled a good choice to be made from a wide range of recordings. And because none of the material was remixed, you can indeed speak of an official bootleg, only now of perfect quality. (RM)more
