Once upon a time, The Jazzinvaders had resolved never to make the same record. Their success started with Up & Out, which was based on the hard bop of the sixties to which Latin influences and modern beats were added to achieve an optimal dance floor effect. On Blow! singer Linda Bloemhard got more space for her songs. For 3, The Jazzinvaders let themselves be influenced by the hard bop artists
… again, but now they were faced with the question of what came after the hard bop. Like greats like Donald Byrd and Grant Green, they are heading towards funk. The power of the new Jazzinvaders sound is to be found in the heavenly interplay between vocals and wind instruments. Beautiful melodies that flow along with each other and give the word 'originality' a new meaning. For the fans of the old Jazzinvaders sound, Dudu and Sunchaser go back to hard bop. It is hoped that The Jazzinvaders, completely against their principles, will hold on to this sound for a while and make the same CD again next time. (AD)more
