Guitarist Edmund Lauret is a member of the Ghent jazz rock band . He also started The Milk Factory together with pianist Thijs Troch. At Aula, the band's debut, Lauret shows herself from a different side. With flutist Jan Daelman among others in the ranks, the Aula echoes a balanced mix of chamber jazz and acoustic progfolk. … the song Tref, with erratic saxophone playing (like a runaway wasp) by Viktor Perdieus. Yet the atmosphere remains dreamy, with a bad dream here and there. Following in the footsteps of , and the aforementioned Nordmann, Ghent is increasingly becoming a supplier of idiosyncratic jazz bands with influences from (alternative) rock.
