Grof Geschut debuted in early 1999 with Meer, one of the best Dutch-language pop records of that year. Compared to this, the successor Twaalf is a bit disappointing. Although the band around singer, guitarist and songwriter Leonie van der Klein still makes clear and powerful pop / rock, the twelve songs sound a bit more forced than on the uncomplicated Meer.
