The title of the CD and the information on his website suggest that on "Night and day II" Joe Jackson picks up where he left off in 1982 with the first part. When you listen to the record, it is not entirely clear why he chose this format. "Night and day II" just sounds like a new Joe Jackson album and, apart from the quiet character and some (piano) quotes, has little to do with the first part. It
… is even a somewhat disappointing album, with songs that don't reach the level of that masterpiece anywhere. The somewhat wooden beats and synthesizer parts programmed by Jackson himself are also in stark contrast to the lively, organic "Night and day". Missed opportunity. (W.vd.Z.) _more
