The May Street Project is the debut of the young American singer-songwriter Sheà Seger (no relation to or ). Sheà is widely acclaimed in the foreign music press, and rightly so. Seger has made a varied album that will keep you fascinated until the last song. Opener Last Time has an infectious and mixable beat. Blind Situation has a breakbeat, but it sounds slow and lazy again, alternated with
… rap. Shatterwall leans on the acoustic guitar and a nice atmospheric choir. You can hear influences in all songs - from to and - but still sound authentic and refreshing. The strongest asset is the electronics that Sheà makes frequent use of. As a result, The May Street Project has become a dance-oriented pop album with beautiful samples that really add something to the lyrics. My favorite song is Always, which Shea sings with , and earlier in the album of appeared. (BP)more
